SUMMER 2025 SCHOOL REPAIR FORM
SUMMER REPAIR TURN AROUND TIMES:
From May through August, we will have the honor of serving many schools to take excellent care of their double reeds. Therefore, school repair turn around time during these months is not fast. The way it works is that we prioritize instrument repair completion in the order the instruments arrive to us at our shop, so the sooner you get us your instruments, the sooner we finish them. Thank you for understanding that we cannot quote an exact completion date, but please know that we will do our absolute best to get you your instruments as quickly as possible.
Q: When will my instruments be done?
A: As quickly as possible. By the time school starts. Sooner than that depending on when they arrive to us.
Q: Will it be really super-duper fast?
A: No. No it will not.
Q: Will your repair department be sitting around eating bon-bons all summer?
A: Let's just say that our repair department has what we call in the biz "job security" during the summer, which means that with great dedication, they will be working many hours all summer to get your repairs completed quickly and properly.
Q: But I have this one instrument that one of my students needs because they're going to band camp - can you help me out?!
A: If you have a singular instrument that you would like to request to be completed by a certain date, please make that request to Ralph and we will do all we can to make that happen. If you indicate that all 27 of your oboes in for repair have to be done by June 4th because all 27 of your oboe players are going to band camp, unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate that request.
We accept instruments from individuals as well as schools for repair. Our team of dedicated specialists will provide you with an evaluation and an estimate before any work is done, communicate with you every step of the way, and make sure your instrument is fixed properly.
We generally expect about a 2 week turn around time, however we are always striving to under promise and over deliver. It takes longer for more extensive work like overhauls. During the summer (May through August), these times increase greatly. If you have deadlines or time constraints, please inquire when dropping off the instrument.
Thank you for understanding that we cannot provide an estimate of work over the phone/email or without seeing the instrument to evaluate it. Estimates are not provided at the time of drop off, but rather we contact you with an estimate after the repair person has evaluated the instrument. If you have a specific concern that you would like addressed, be sure to clarify that when you drop off the instrument.
Are you just a normal, regular, individual human being and you would like us to repair your instrument?
You can fill this out before coming in to make drop off go faster. Just let the person who takes the instrument know you filled this out before coming in:
