The Fox Model 900 contrabassoon was introduced fairly early on in the history of Fox Products, and this model continues to be preferred by the most discriminating performers in premier orchestras, opera companies, music schools and conservatories all over the world. Select, aged maple body, removable inner U-tubes, full German key system with silver plating, alternate right little finger F♯ and right forefinger Eb, right little finger F and Ab rollers, left little finger Eb and Db rollers, water key on tuning slide. Comes with two Fox contrabassoon bocals, premium aluminum shell case, custom made for Fox contrabassoons, two contrabassoon reeds, end pin, fingering chart. Additional options:Maple finished in mahogany or ebony color.

We special order and sell all our Fox contrabassoons with our uniquely developed, added key work combination. That is above and beyond what Fox puts on all their standard contrabassoons and with those keys added, it brings the cost to $43,746. The standard price shown on this listing ($41,665) does not include the extra key work.

Specifically, we add: 

• Rollers from C to E-flat on the left ring finger
• Alternate touch E-flat for the right thumb (in addition to the standard right index finger E-flat, which ours also have)
• Alternate touch C-sharp for the left thumb, next to the top octave vent key

You are welcome to order a different configuration (or the standard configuration) - that would just need to be stated with at least 6-8 months lead time.
